Once my kids settle back into school, Halloween becomes our next big focus. As the weather changes, we spend more time enjoying cosy afternoons indoors. We love filling these afternoons with arts and crafts. Pumpkins, witches and all things spooky feature heavily in our house!

We also love a good Halloween movie night. These treats are perfect for enjoying alongside your favourite spooky film. They can be made earlier in the day and popped into the fridge to set. While the treats are chilling, we might head out for a walk along the prom. Sometimes, we head to the kids’ Saturday morning training instead.

Once dinner is cleared away, we get one of the big blankets down. Then, we make some popcorn and choose a Halloween film. It makes the perfect cosy family movie night!

These no-bake Halloween treats would also be brilliant for a Halloween party. They are quick and simple to prepare. You can also make them ahead of time, leaving more time for enjoying.

My Favourite Halloween Childhood Memory

One of my favourite Halloween childhood memories is making our costumes every year. We always seemed to make the same one, a witch’s costume from a black bin bag!

It was so simple, but we thought it was fantastic. We would cut holes for our arms and head, then add a few little tassels along the bottom.

Then, we would pop on a witch’s hat and head out for a night of Halloween fun.

I think we all made a costume like this at some point! There was nothing fancy about it, but that was part of the fun.

Looking back, I love how simple Halloween was. We didn’t need expensive costumes or lots of decorations to have a great night.

We just used what we had at home, got creative and enjoyed ourselves. Those are the little memories I now love sharing with my own kids.
