These baked oat bites are one of those recipes I come back to again and again. They’re simple, comforting, and so practical for busy family life. You can find a version of this recipe in the breakfast section of my best-selling cookbook, Make & Freeze.
These little oat bites are perfect for lunchboxes, breakfasts on the go, or as a healthier snack alongside a cup of coffee. of the things I love most about this recipe is how easy and economical it is. They’re made using simple store-cupboard ingredients, which helps save money on expensive shop-bought snacks, and they’re brilliant for using up that lonely overripe banana sitting in the fruit bowl. Nothing wasted, which always feels like a win.
They’re quick to throw together, easy to bake, and freeze perfectly, making them ideal for batch cooking. I like to make a double batch and stash them in the freezer so there’s always something nourishing ready when life gets busy.
My two really love these oat bites, and it’s such a great recipe to get kids involved with. They enjoy helping mix everything together, and it makes them even more excited to eat them afterwards. They’re also a brilliant snack to bring along to after-school activities when everyone needs a little energy boost.
Simple, nourishing, freezer-friendly and family approved — these baked oat bites really tick all the boxes.
