This isn’t really a recipe… but it’s one that’s so worth sharing. If you’re looking for a quick, healthier treat that still feels indulgent, this 2-ingredient chocolate mousse is the perfect solution.
I made it for my kids as an after-school Friday treat, and it was an instant hit. The best part? It’s high in protein, thanks to the silken tofu, and lower in sugar than a traditional chocolate mousse. It’s the kind of dessert that feels like a little win — indulgent, but still balanced.
If you’ve never tried tofu in dessert before, I totally get it. I was surprised myself the first time I made it. But once you blend it with cocoa and sweeten it a little, the texture becomes unbelievably smooth and creamy. The silken tofu is the key here — firm tofu won’t work, so make sure you pick the right one. I bought mine from @evergreenhealthfoods, and it worked perfectly.
I’ll be honest — I do love a sweet treat, and I truly believe everything is about balance. I’m always trying to reduce refined sugar where I can, so this is a great option for our family. My two absolutely loved it and have already requested it again for their next Friday treat. It’s so quick and easy to throw together, which is a huge bonus when you’ve got busy kids and a busy week.
