These no-bake Brownie Balls have quickly become a firm family favourite in our home. My kids absolutely love them as a weekend treat (and I always sneak one—or two!—to enjoy with my morning coffee). Made with simple, wholesome ingredients, they’re a healthier alternative to store-bought sweets and snacks.

No-bake Brownie Balls

I am a huge fan of no bake bliss balls so couldn’t wait to try these brownie balls..and they are delicious! They’re a healthier alternative to processed store bought snacks and are great for prepping ahead of time- my two kiddos love them!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup dried dates – 20 approx or Medjool dates, pitted
  • 2 tbsp oat flour or ground almonds I blended oats in my smoothie blender (substitute gluten free if needed)
  • 2 tbsp nut butter I used almond, peanut butter, cashew or biscoff as a nut butter alternative
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup ( use maple syrup for vegan version)
  • 1 tbsp ground seeds or protein powder
  • 1.5 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch salt
  • ½ cup puffed rice cereal (substitute gluten free if needed)
  • To coat
  • 100 g chocolate melted milk or dark ( substitute dairy free if needed)
  • ¼ cup puffed rice cereal (substitute gluten free if needed)

Instructions
 

  • If using dried dates, soak them in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain and discard the water – to get them nice and soft. Then add them to the blender along with the other ingredients except the puffed rice cereal. Blend until nice and smooth. Add in the puffed rice, blend again briefly. (if using medjool dates add them straight to the blender)
  • Divide into 9 equal balls
  • Chill in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  • Melt the chocolate (gently in the microwave or in a bowl over simmering water), stir in the puffed rice. Then coat each ball with chocolate. Chill for 20 minutes and devour!!
  • Storage Tips for Healthy Homemade Brownie Balls:
    To keep your Healthy Brownie Balls fresh and delicious, here are some storage tips:
    Refrigeration:
    Store the brownie balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator. This will keep them fresh for up to 5 days.
    Be sure to separate layers with parchment paper if you're stacking them to prevent sticking.
    Room Temperature (Short-Term):
    If you prefer storing them at room temperature you can store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, like your kitchen cupboard for up to 3 days. However, the fridge is ideal for longer freshness.
    Freezer Storage:
    If you want to make a larger batch or save some for later, you can freeze the brownie balls. Place them in a freezer-safe container or zip-top freezer bag. They will keep for up to 3 months in the freezer.
    To defrost: Simply take them out of the freezer and let them thaw at room temperature for about 1 hour before enjoying.
